A
Day In the Life
|
The
cabin is your
child's home
away from home
- a place for
sharing
secrets,telling
stories, and
dodging pillow
fights.
Through
group living,
each camper
learns to
share and live
cooperatively
and to
understand
each other
even if
bunkmates or
counselors are
from another
part of the
world.
|
Each
morning after
breakfast and daily
cabin cleanup,
campers share two
activity periods
with their cabin
mates. These
sessions are
programmed
activities with an
emphasis on learning
a particular skill
(Swimming, archery,
arts and crafts,
sailing, etc. ).
These group sessions
give campers the
chance to
participate in
activities they
might not have
chosen. After two
days focusing on an
activity, the cabin
is off to try
another challenge.
|
|
Afternoon
activities are chosen daily by
the child. Campers select the
activity they wish to
participate in that afternoon.
This allows friends and
relatives to sign up together
and share the same endeavor.
|
Swift
Nature Camp's broad
array of activities
allows each and
every child to
shine. A camper can
choose from water or
land sports, arts
and crafts, archery,
riflery, visiting
the Nature Center,
going on a field
trip with the DNR,
or just enjoying a
little fishing!
|
Following
the afternoon
sessions, campers
have free time to
feed the animals at
the Nature Center,
finish an arts and
crafts project, go
swimming, or take a
little nap. In the
evening, all ages
come together for
camp wide
activities, such as
games, singing or
camp fires.
